We like to support charities that make a difference to our environment, so once again we are proud to sponsor the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s 2016 calendar.
Based in the truly stunning Hampshire countryside the Hildon team appreciate the beauty of nature on a daily basis. Like the rest of the nation we are becoming increasingly aware of its fragility. Organisations like the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust help us to preserve the beautiful countryside and its inhabitants, maintaining a balanced ecosystem for wildlife to thrive.
Their 2016 calendar, made up of truly eye catching images of the natural wildlife found in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, raises funds directly for the Trust’s significant conservation and education work.
The breath-taking wildlife imagery included in the 2016 calendar were the best 12 photographs entered into the HIWWT’s annual photography competition earlier this year.
All the entries were of a very high standard and selecting the winner was difficult. Tim Withall was awarded first prize with his picture of a broad-bodied chaser dragonfly and a four-spotted chaser dragonfly cautiously considering each other over the head of a bluebell. According to Chris Packham, judge of our annual competition, the picture was “a lovely photograph, simple, uncluttered and neat, a wonderful moment cleverly captured – a worthy and clear winner”.
